The Jubilee Clock in Lier

1–2 minutes

read

One of the best sights of Lier: the amazing Jubilee Clock, made by Louis Zimmer to celebrate Belgium’s centenary (1830-1930).

🏫The tower is a medieval building, former Cornelius Tower, and was renamed after Zimmer (Zimmer Tower).

⏱The 13 different dials in clockwise direction starting 12 o’clock: the official time – equation of time – zodiac – solar orb and dominical letter – the weekdays – the terrestrial globe- the months – the dates – the seasons – tides – moon’s age – phases of the moon – moon’s orbit with epact.
